Tabloids in damages payout to Miller
Updated on 10 December 2007
Actress Sienna Miller has won a £37,500 damages payout from the Sun and News of the World after the tabloids published nude photographs of her while filming a movie.
The newspapers, along with the Xposure Photo Agency, were also hit with the bill for legal costs to settle the dispute.
The Factory Girl and Layer Cake star sued for invasion of privacy after the pictures were printed in October. A further judgement against the photographer who took the shots will be heard next month.
Miller was filming bio-pic, Hippie Hippie Shake, based on the memoirs of Richard Neville, when the pictures were taken.
Neville, played in the film by Cillian Murphy, was editor of the controversial magazine Oz in the early 70s. He was jailed for obscenity in 1971.
Miller stars as his girlfriend Louise Ferrier.
