Sir Cliff celebrates 50 years

Sir Cliff Richard is celebrating 50 years of recording music.

The singer burst onto the music scene on July 24,1958 with the song Schoolboy Crush as part of the Drifters.

According to his website, he has since sold over 250 million records.

He also shares the record with Elvis Presley as the only acts to make the UK singles charts in all of its decades right from the 50s.

The star said he's happy to make music as long as his fans will still have him.

He said: "I manage to go platinum every now and then so while I can do that I can still record. So I'll be bringing something out soon."
