Simon Pegg loses friends

Brit funnyman Simon Pegg has teamed up with Kirsten Dunst, Gillian Anderson and Megan Fox for a romantic comedy based on the best-selling book How to Lose Friends and Alienate People.

His character, Sidney Young, has a knack for doing and saying the wrong things in his role as a journalist at a celebrity magazine in the US.

Pegg said he really enjoyed playing the character but said he is nothing like the foot-in-the-mouth journalist.

"He just doesn't care what people think about him. I think I do. Maybe I'm a little more paranoid."

The film hit cinemas in the UK on Friday.
