Celebrity Big Brother star Shilpa Shetty releases her new movie in the UK this weekend.

The 31-year-old's new film Life In A Metro sees the actress play a neglected housewife tempted by infidelity.

The star attended the premiere of the movie with fellow Big Brother housemate Danielle Lloyd earlier this week.

She said: "I think after a certain point in your career you want to really push the envelope and throw caution to the wind and I want to do something different.

"I think it's a great opportunity, a great platform to see a different facet to Indian cinema."

Since the reality show finished, Shetty has met the Queen, been offered a part in a musical, is bringing out her own perfume and has been inundated with a string of offers for commercials, modelling work and book deals.

She also recently caused controversy in India when Hindu nationalists took offence to Hollywood star Richard Gere openly planting kisses on her cheek at an Aids awareness event.
