Prince Charles explains why he helped save Dumfries House, now open to the public for the first time in 250 years.

It's been called one of Britain's best kept heritage secrets and now, thanks to Prince Charles, it's been preserved for the nation.

The Prince helped to broker a £45m deal to transform Dumfries House in Ayrshire and today he opened it to the public for the first time in 250 years.

Our arts correspondent Nicholas Glass spoke exclusively with Prince Charles, about his passion for the house and his hopes that it will help regenerate the whole area.
