Puppets celebrate 500th birthday
Updated on 16 August 2007
A bunch of slightly risqué puppets have been celebrating their 500th performance in London's West End.
Avenue Q is a puppet show that has proved popular with adults and younger audiences alike.
The cast follow in the footsteps of The Muppet Show and Sesame Street but with a bawdy sense of humour.
The show began in New York and is fast becoming a fixture in the West End with a number of awards to its name.
Behind every good puppet there is a good person and Avenue Q is the creation of a host of talented young 30-something theatre artists.
