Posh flaunts new fashion line and hair
Updated on 09 September 2008
Victoria Beckham had a busy day in the Big Apple, launching a new clothing line, taking front row seats at a fashion show and sporting a new hairstyle.
A select band of buyers and editors viewed the former Spice Girl's new clothing collection at the historic Waldorf hotel in New York.
Super svelte Victoria also showcased a daring new hairdo, a short spiky crop during the city's Fashion Week.
She revealed even husband David had not seen all the finished pieces, although he regularly texted throughout the showcase for progress reports.
The singer-turned-designer described her collection of ten dresses as "classy".
The figure-hugging dresses all sport modest below-the-knee hemlines and come in sizes six to 14 and were described as "suitable for all ages".
The range is to be launched in February and each limited edition piece will cost between £650 and £1,900.
"I've been working on this for 34 years," Victoria said. "I always wanted to be a fashion designer. Then along came the Spice Girls which opened a lot of doors for me. And, let's be honest, closed a lot.
"But those days are over. I was never going to be the world's best singer, but I hope I can be a good designer."
She topped off her stylish day with a seat on the front row of Marc Jacobs' Spring Summer 2009 collection, accompanied by Hollywood friend Jennifer Lopez.
