UK teenager gets Bolshoi chance
Updated on 25 August 2009
Sixteen-year-old Natalie Carter has been selected to study at the elite Bolshoi Ballet Academy in Moscow.

She was spotted performing at her local ballet school in Watford by a former Russian dancer.
Natalie will have 40 hours a week of ballet classes and will be hoping to do better than her predecessors.
Since it was established in 1773 only handful of British dancers have successfully studied at the Bolshoi in its long history.
On 25 August Channel 4 News reported on sixteen year old Natalie Carter's selection to train at the prestigious Bolshoi Ballet Academy in Moscow.
In the studio introduction to that report we wrongly stated that no British dancer had progressed beyond the first year at the Academy.
In fact, the British dancer Henry Perkins from Hampshire is about to complete a four year course at the Bolshoi Ballet Academy in Moscow. We are happy to set the record straight and apologise to Henry Perkins.
