Revered as the greatest living choreographer of contemporary dance, Merce Cunningham's company comes to the Barbican in London to perform his latest work

Now 89-years-old Merce Cunningham is arthritic and wheelchair bound, he no longer performs himself but his passion for dance remains undimmed.

He is a maverick who reinvented the art form by separating movement from the music and is still creating new work and travelling with the company he founded over half a century ago.
