Cyd Charisse dances her last

Dancer and actress Cyd Charisse, of the legendary "million-dollar legs" fame, dies of a heart attack in Los Angeles aged 86.
While the story of her legs may well have been more publicity stunt than genuine insurance policy, Charisse was undoubtedly a very valuable Hollywood star.
Partnering Fred Astaire and Gene Kelly in Glorious Technicolour through some of the best-loved musical extravaganzas of the 1940s and 50s, she will be remembered for roles in Singin' in the Rain, The Band Wagon and Silk Stockings.
