Opera star back in the spotlight

Opera singer Russell Watson has signed a deal to be a judge on a new TV talent show.

The 41-year-old former factory worker had emergency surgery last year after he was diagnosed with a second brain tumour.

Watson sold millions of records worldwide and has performed for some of the most influential people of our time including the King of Malaysia, the President of the United States and the Emperor of Japan

He will appear on Last Choir Standing, the hunt for Britain's best choir, to be broadcast next month.

Nick Knowles and Mylene Klass will host the Saturday night show.
