Television presenter Mark Speight will not face criminal charges over the death of his fiancee Natasha Collins.

Mr Speight, who presents the popular children's art show SMart, had been arrested on suspicion of murder and supplying Class A drugs.

He was detained after his Miss Collins, a 31-year-old actress and presenter, was found dead at the couple's London flat in northwest London, on January 3.

Six days later police said they were no longer treating Speight as a murder suspect and he was bailed.

A Metropolitan Police spokesman said officers had consulted the Crown Prosecution Service and decided to take no further action against Mr Speight.

An inquest into Miss Collins' sudden death is due to take place at Westminster Coroner's Court in central London on April 2.
