Stars turn out to remember Jackson

The singer's body was brought to the public memorial venue, the Los Angeles Staples Center, in a $25,000 golden coffin after a family funeral at a nearby cemetery.

His body arrived at the LA venue to a chorus of cheers and screams from tens of thousands of fans.

More than a 1.5 million people applied for tickets for the event, with around 17,500 chosen at random.

More than 1,000 tickets were given out by the family to friends of the singer.
