Madonna singles out Sunsilk

Updated on 18 March 2008

By Channel 4 News

Madonna's hair's the signature of her chameleon style - so what better place to showcase her new single than on a shampoo advert?

Unusual marketing ploys in the music biz might be becoming old hat, but Madonna's managed to break new boundaries by showcasing her new single 4 Minutes on a Sunsilk shampoo ad.

It's not the first time Madge has promoted Sunsilk; she was part of the Unilever product's Life Can't Wait campaign - aired in February during Super Bowl.

But whereas in the first ad she had to share the limelight with other hairdo heroines - Marilyn Monroe and Shakira - now she gets the stage all to herself.

In an ideal world: who should advertise what...

Celebrity: Heather McCartney
Product: a cup of water
Slogan: "why not chuck it over someone?"

Celebrity: Simon Cowell

Slogan: "button in the belly!"

Celebrity: Prince

Celebrity: Naomi Campbell

Celebrity: George Michael
Product: Pro Plus
Slogan: "never fall asleep behind the wheel again!"
