As in life, so in death: for a man whose global superstardom was built on paradox - Michael Jackson's sudden demise has proved no less controversial.
Jackson was rushed to hospital in Los Angeles on Thursday night in full cardiac arrest: a drama which, inevitably enough, was played out in front of the cameras.
But along with the flood of tributes from celebrities and fans across the world, the allegations: tonight the coroner said the cause of death was still unknown.
But his family lawyer told this programme he had long warned about Jackson's addiction to painkilling drugs.
