There has never been a debate about his talent. As for his death, there have been several theories.

Now James "Tappy" Wright is claiming that Hendrix was murdered by his manager.

Hendrix was found in this flat in west London in September 1970. At the time it was said he choked on his own vomit after taking drugs and alcohol.

The inquest was told that he died on his way to hospital in an ambulance. The coroner returned an open verdict.

But the facts surrounding his death have been disputed ever since.

The surgeon who tried to revive him admitted that he was surprised at the low amount of alcohol in his blood stream.

Some have questioned the events leading up to his death given by Monika Danneman, Hendrix's last girlfriend.

To add weight to the conspiracy theories, police re-investigated the circumstances surrounding his death in 1993.

Mr  Wright, a veteran rock and roll roadie, says that Hendrix’s manager Michael Jeffery confessed to killing the rock star during a drinking session..
