Sports channel could be saved

There is a lifeline for the troubled pay-television channel Setanta, from a US-based tycoon.

Billionaire Len Blavatnik confirmed he had submitted a £20m bid in return for a 51 per cent stake in the Irish company.
Setanta suspended all new subscriptions earlier this week, and with substantial sports rights payments looming, it has been struggling to avoid falling into administration.
