Football game goes down the loo?

The BBC's Football League Show made an eye-catching start on Saturday night when it broadcast shots of a woman sitting in a toilet.

The new late-night programme shows Football League action, but highlights from the Torquay versus Chesterfield League Two encounter switched to a scene from film Blue Crush, which was playing on ITV at the time.

A technical error meant shocked viewers were treated to shots of a blonde woman sitting in a toilet, and talking on her mobile phone at approximately one minute into the highlights.

Football fans missed several chances and post-match interviews but no goals from the match, which Torquay won 2-0. When the football returned the footage had moved on to Port Vale versus Rochdale.

A BBC spokesperson said: "The highlights were interrupted for 37 seconds. This was a technical hitch that was rectified as soon as we were made aware of the problem."
