McConaughey delighted with baby boy

Actor Matthew McConaughey's Brazilian girlfriend has given birth to a boy.

The baby - the first for McConaughey, 38, and model Camila Alves, 24, - weighed in at 7lb, 4oz.

This is the first child for the pair and the Dazed And Confused actor initially spread the good news of impending fatherhood on his website.

He said: "My girlfriend Camila and I made a baby together.

"It's three months growin' in her womb and all looks healthy and lively so far. We are stoked and wowed by this miracle of creation and this gift from God and so excited for the adventure that will come in raising this child, being mother and a father, and shepherding him or her through this life."

The child's name has not yet been released.

McConaughey started dating Alves, a native of Rio De Janeiro, after breaking up with Spanish actress Penelope Cruz in 2006.
