Material Girl Madonna is set to hold the record for the highest-selling tour of all time by a solo artist.

The songstress has so far raked in about £137 million in ticket sales on the European and American legs of her Sticky & Sweet tour.

According to tour producer Arthur Fogel, she is on pace to hit £187 million when the Mexico and South America leg of the tour wraps up, making it the top-grossing tour ever by a female artist or solo artist.

The 28-date North American leg, which has just concluded, grossed £60.5 million and moved about 550,000 tickets.

The songstress wrapped up that part of the tour in front of 50,000 people at Dolphin Stadium in Miami before heading to Mexico City.

Madonna had held the previous record with her Confessions tour in 2006, having taken £128 million.
