Pop princess Lily Allen has landed herself in hot water after being arrested for an alleged attack on a photographer.

The 22-year-old singer spent Thursday at a police station in central London answering questions about the alleged assault on a male photographer in his 40s. The Smile star was later released on bail.

The incident was said to have happened nearby celebrity hangout, the Wardour club in London's trendy Soho area on March 13.

A Scotland Yard spokeswoman said: "At 9.30am yesterday, a 21-year-old woman attended a central London police station by appointment.

"She was arrested in connection with an allegation of assault. She has been bailed to return on a date in late July."

Meanwhile, Lily is set to perform at Diana's Concert this weekend along with Sir Elton John, Take That and Joss Stone.
