Kelly Osbourne talks about contaception
Updated on 30 September 2008
Kelly Osbourne has revealed that she is tested four times a year for sexually transmitted diseases.
The daughter of rocker Ozzy Osbourne, Kelly, 23, admitted having unprotected sex in the past but said she had the tests for her own peace of mind.
Osbourne said that she saw her first condom when she was around seven, on a Black Sabbath tour.
She said: "I was on tour with my dad and at every single one of his shows, they hand out free condoms.
"I was about seven or eight and I picked up a packet and was like, 'Mum, what's this?'
"She had to explain to me what they were. It was something my parents had never been shy about. They always told us what they think and that we should protect ourselves."
Osbourne said her mother, former X Factor judge Sharon, did not like her daughter being on the Pill because she feared it increased the risk of cancer - and she also believes microwaves are dangerous.
She added: "Mum did have a problem with me going on the Pill. She doesn't like that I'm on it.
"Because of her history (of bowel cancer) she's absolutely convinced it causes cancer. I don't have a microwave in my house for the same reason."
Osbourne, who is dating model Luke Worrall and is an ambassador for World Contraception Day, added: "Alcohol and drugs impair your judgment. I know it's because I was drunk that I had unprotected sex."
