Jolie's new film hits cinemas

Hollywood star Angelina Jolie said has described how she was inspired by the character she played in her latest flick Changeling.

Directed by Clint Eastwood, the film is set in Los Angeles in 1928 and follows the plight of Christine Collins - a woman trying to track down her kidnapped son.

The mother of six said she found the film, which is based on a true story, very emotional.

"In the end, it became a story about democracy and action, about justice, about suffering a great loss and fighting through it and making a change," she said.

"When I first read the script, I couldn't put it down. And then I said no immediately. I didn't want to go near this project because it was too upsetting.

"But then I couldn't stop talking about her. I found myself sitting with people and wanting them to know about this extraordinary woman. So I found it very inspiring in the end."
