Jennifer eyes jailbird production
Updated on 13 June 2007
Hollywood star Jennifer Aniston has reportedly signed up to produce a musical about singing prisoners.
The 1940s tale entitled Goree Girls tells the story of eight women at Texas' Goree Prison who became one of the first all-female country and western acts in the US.
They went on to become a hugely successful act, attracting millions of fans before they were eventually pardoned and freed.
Aniston became interested in the project after reading an article about the group published in an American magazine.
The actress is now looking for a director to help her take up the project.
Aniston is also currently working on the production of The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford and The Senator's Wife.
