Henry VIII love letter on display
Updated on 23 April 2009
A hand-written love letter from Henry VIII to Anne Boleyn has gone on show for the first time in Britain.

It is a letter that changed history - a king's passionate declaration of desire for the woman who would become his wife.
In the love letter, the king appears to declare his intention to marry her at any cost.
Owned by the Vatican for centuries, it has been loaned to the British Museum for their exhibition to celebrate Henry's accession to the throne 500 years ago.
