Actor Danny Glover says he cannot be tempted to revive the hit Lethal Weapon series of films.

Speaking at the Cannes Film Festival, he said he had respect for Harrison Ford and the latest in the Indiana Jones franchise, but there was no way he would go back.

Glover stars in Blindness with Julianna Moore - the first film to be shown at this year's festival.

In the film a contagion spreads and panic and paranoia set in as the newly-blinded victims of a so-called White Sickness are rounded up and quarantined in a mental asylum.

Those behind the film were asked whether it could be seen as a "Lord of the Flies for adults", but some felt it was more about fighting for dignity.

Glover described how victims of crises were often "invisible". Talking about the situations in Somalia, Iraq and Darfur, he said: "These people are for the most part invisible to us."
