Glitteratti shine at the SAG Awards
Updated on 28 January 2008
Hollywood's glitteratti have finally been given a chance to shine at at Screen Actors Guild Awards.
Kate Beckinsale, Grey's Anatomy's Sandra Oh, not to mention Brangelina were just some of those making the most of the first major red carpet of awards season.
And Miss Jolie was doing nothing to stop those pregnancy rumours with a flowing dress.
Thanks to writers who have been striking since November over internet and dvd royalties, Tinseltown's top names have been on one long holiday.
So far dozens of stars have joined the picket lines. Eva Longoria Parker even handed out pizzas at one point and rather than ignoring the cause and says the glamourous ceremony is a way to show their loyalty.
The row was not far lips inside as Julie Christie was given another pat on the back for Away From Her.
The Golden Globe winner was recognised for her part as a woman suffering from alzheimers winning the gong for best actress in a leading role.
Daniel Day Lewis will also have to find some extra room inside his trophy cabinet. The 50-year-old triumphed at the globes and picked up another accolade for his role in There Will Be Blood.
And the critically acclaimed No Country For Old Men by the Coen Brothers did the double. After stealing the best supporting actor prize for Javier Bardem, it went on to take the award for an ensemble cast.
And with eight nominations for No Country going into the academy awards, it would take a brave gambler to bet against them.
