Despite warnings of a washout it is hoped the weather won't put a dampener on this year's Glastonbury Festival.

According to the weather people, a mixture of heavy rain and showers are forecast for the legendary festival this weekend.

Despite this the founder Michael Eavis is confident the festival spirit will flourish because of the £100,000 drainage system he has installed.

The charity Give Me Shelter will be hoping to take advantage of the rain by reusing any soggy tents donated by revellers.

In 2005 Glastonbury had its wettest ever event with record downpours on the first night.

Hundreds of tents were submerged in water and mud, sparking famous scenes of muddy festival-goers trying to save their belongings.
