'Gladiators: Are you ready?'

One of the nineties' most successful TV shows is making a comeback.

Gladiators returns to television screeens with a fresh set of warriors to take over from the likes of Wolf, Shadow and Saracen.

This time round, they've got names like Spartan, Battleaxe and Inferno.

But one person hasn't changed - referee John Anderson who says he is enjoying his comeback.

"I'm the envy of every red-blooded male in the world. It's absolutely incredible."

When asked to re-join the show, Anderson said it was like being asked if he wanted another piece of cake. "It's a bit like having Christmas every other day."
