The writers of one of Britain’s best-loved sitcoms have turned the story of prison life into a stage play. Channel 4 News meets the makers of Porridge.

The wisdoms of Norman Stanley Fletcher turned Porridge into one of the most popular sitcoms of the 70s.

Writers Dick Clement and Ian La Frenais, who now live in California, are in Britain for final preparations before the stage play tours Britain this autumn.

Taking over the late Ronnie Barker's role as Fletch is Extras star Shaun Williamson.
