Roman Polanski detained in Switzerland

The Oscar-winning director Roman Polanski is arrested in Switzerland on a warrant issued by American authorities three decades ago. Stephanie West reports.

The warrant relates to his unlawful sexual intercourse with a 13-year-old.
He had pleaded guilty to unlawful sexual intercourse with the underage girl at his home in Los Angeles, but the filmmaker fled the United States before sentencing.
He has never returned to the States, but Switzerland has an extradition treaty with the US.
The author Robert Harris, who has written a screenplay of his book The Ghost with Roman Polanski, is in Berkshire. He spoke to Krishnan Guru-Murthy.
