Hollywood star Lohan arrested

Updated on 25 July 2007

It's not exactly the sequel she was looking for. Just two weeks after Hollywood actress Lindsay Lohan checked out of a drugs and alcohol rehabilitation facility, she's been arrested again on suspicion of drunk driving and possessing cocaine.

Lohan has denied taking drugs - declaring in an email to an entertainment show host "I am innocent - they're not mine". But after Paris Hilton's stint in jail it's not a good time to be a celebrity bad-girl.

It's the second time in two months Lohan has been arrested for driving drunk - as she chased a car being driven by the mother of her personal assistant who had just quit.

Lohan left her latest stint of rehab just two weeks ago. This weeknd she wore a long dress to try to cover up the ankle bracelet that can tell if she drinks any alcohol, eventually showing it off - claiming it was keeping her clean.

But it didn't stop her relapsing - her drinking did stop her appearing on The Tonight Show, so they got a stand in.

Lohan's sometime friend Paris Hilton survived 45 days in jail for similar crimes - she managed to turn it into a PR stunt. But it could be far more serious for Lindsay, possibly in a state prison.
