The Famous Five have been dragged kicking and screaming into the 21st century, in a new cartoon series on the Disney Channel.
Enid Blyton's original characters ran around foiling rotters and celebrating with lashings of ginger beer, and for a very long time now they have come across as characters from a misty, bygone age.
Yet that hasn't stopped generations of children from devouring the books. So why the update?
