Did Ledger accidentally overdose?

He had everything going for him, yet at just 28 the actor Heath Ledger is dead.
The dead body of movie star Heath Ledger was discovered in his New York apartment.
With an Oscar nomination already under his belt and parts in a host of forthcoming films, his was a Hollywood career already marked out by critical acclaim.
Ledger's family called it a tragic accident. Medical examiners said it would be days before the cause of death was clear.
There's speculation he may have accidentally overdosed on sleeping pills.
In one of his last interviews, Ledger talked of taking the tablets to combat the stress of his latest role.
