Depp to quit acting over age fears

Take a good long look at Johnny Depp girls, because the heart-throb actor has announced he's set to quit Hollywood.

The 43-year-old says he's giving up movies when he hits 50 because he's worried his ageing appearance could affect the way fans see him.

"I won't last in film much after I turn 50," he said.

"People go on about how well I look for my age, but what happens when it all drops? I could end up as the Cliff Richard of film."

The Pirates Of The Caribbean star has never been a huge fan of Hollywood, choosing to live in France with long-term partner Vanessa Paradis and their two children, Lily Rose, seven, and four-year-old Jack.

He once told Germany's Stern magazine he thought his homeland was "dumb".

"America is dumb, it's like a dumb puppy that has big teeth that can bite and hurt you, aggressive," he said.
