On 2 November 1982, the Channel 4 clock counted down to the news for the very first time. Twenty-five years later we look at the changing faces of Channel 4 News.

1982


Peter Sissons presents Channel 4 News 3 November 1982

It's the second night of Channel 4 News, with Peter Sissons (pictured left) and Trevor McDonald presenting, with the Channel 4 clock, some funky Star Wars-esque graphics and wobbly tape footage to boot. Watch out for former political editor Elinor Goodman's sneak appearance...

Fast forward 10 years and the theme music we all know has arrived, along with Dermot Murnaghan. A somewhat high-pitched Jon Snow reports from Washington.
