BBC, Sky refuse to show Gaza appeal

Updated on 26 January 2009

By Jonathan Rugman

In spite of intense pressure the BBC is still refusing to show the Disasters Emergency Committee's appeal for aid for Gaza, citing concerns about impartiality.

The BBC is not alone, with Sky News also saying it will not show the appeal.

Other broadcasters have begun airing the appeal. It has already been shown on Channel 4 and it will go out on ITV and Five later tonight.
