Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe caused a storm when he attended the London premiere of his new movie December Boys.

The 18-year-old hit the red carpet to promote his latest outing, signing autographs for screaming fans - including one girl who offered the star a marriage proposal.

December Boys is based on the novel by Michael Noonan which tells the story of four orphans who leave their orphanage for a holiday by the sea.

The film looks at the rivalries between the boys as they compete for the parental affections of a young couple unable to have children.

The star has been on a whirlwind tour of the world to promote the movie, recently attending premieres in Sydney and Los Angeles.

Based on the support the young actor received at the UK launch of his flick, his first major role outside the Potter series looks set to be a massive success.
