Eastwood's film nets him a record

Clint Eastwood's new film Gran Torino has landed his biggest opening weekend ever.
The movie made £19 million in the US, more than any of his other films as either actor or director.
The film is based on a disgruntled Korean War vet Walt Kowalski who sets out to reform his neighbor, a young teenager, who tried to steal Kowalski's prized possession: his 1972 Gran Torino.
The film features a predominantly Southeast Asian cast, as well as Eastwood's younger son, Scott Eastwood. Eastwood's older son, Kyle Eastwood, provided the score
Gran Torino beat Anne Hathaway and Kate Hudson's Bride Wars which made £13 million.
