De Niro and Scorsese team up again

Updated on 11 November 2008

Robert De Niro and Martin Scorsese are to team up for the first time in 13 years to make I Heard You Paint Houses.

The pair have worked together on eight films, but their last actor-director collaboration was on the 1995 hit Casino.

The crime drama, based on a book by the same name, is the story of a mob assassin.

De Niro has high hopes for the film: "It's something that Marty and I want to do and we have high hopes."

He says the script is currently being written.

"And we have a more ambitious plan of doing another movie connected to it in some way."

De Niro says it may be a while before either film makes it to the cinema.
