Crowe beefs up for new film

Leonardo DiCaprio and Russell Crowe have graced the red carpet in the Big Apple for the premiere of their film, Body of Lies.

The film is based on the novel of the same name and is directed by Ridley Scott and also features Iranian actress Golshifteh Farahani.

Washington Post columnist David Ignatius penned the book in 2007 about a CIA operative, Roger Ferris, who uncovers a lead on a major terrorist leader suspected to be operating out of Jordan.

Crowe put on 50 pounds for his role as Ed Hoffman.

"I've done it a few times and I'm probably over doing it. I'm pretty sure my wife is over me doing it too," Crowe said.

The film is due out in the UK in late November.
