Cole 'shocked' by Posh's silence
Updated on 06 January 2009
Cheryl Cole has said she was disappointed not to hear from friend Victoria Beckham after claims her footballer husband Ashley had cheated on her.
Cole has followed Beckham's footsteps by gracing the cover of Vogue magazine.
The two women bonded during the 2006 World Cup. Beckham has also had to endure infidelity allegations about her footballer husband David and Rebecca Loos.
Speaking to the magazine about her disappointment, Cole said: "I mean, David's mum is friends with Ashley's mum, she (Victoria) was in my hotel room the whole time during the World Cup - we've had barbecues together - so I was quite shocked by that."
Cole also spoke up for her friend Posh, saying: "It's not fair the way the press pick on her".
"Nobody should endure that sort of vilification," she added.
Cole spoke about the woman who levelled the allegations against her husband saying: "Well, you only have to read the girl's story.
"Can you imagine? Saying all that stuff about a married man in that state? I mean, to be honest, I feel sorry for her."
She said of him: "Ashley's young, and he's got quite a young mentality for his age, anyway. He's learning."
Cole said she liked fellow WAG Coleen Rooney, but added that some were "like wooden blocks, I'm telling you".
The Geordie also said she thought Peaches Geldof was "up herself" and Alexa Chung "acted all superior, like" when they first met.
