Carreras honoured at Classical Brits

Legendary opera singer Jose Carreras received a lifetime achievement award from the Duchess of Cornwall at the Classical Brits.
The Spanish singer, who became a household name as part of the Three Tenors with Palcido Domingo and the late Luciano Pavarotti, announced last week he is retiring from opera.
But he brough the awards ceremony to a climax with a performance of Chitarra Romana.
Trumpeter Alison Balsom became the first Briton in the history of the awards to win female artist of the year, fighting off competition from opera stars Anna Netrebko and Danielle de Niese.
Balsom won the best young performer Brit in 2006.
The Royal Scots Dragoon Guards won album of the year at the for a record they made in an Iraqi war zone.
