Brangelina attend NY Film Festival

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have hit the red carpet at the New York Film Festival.

The pair were in town for the premiere of Jolie's new film Changeling at the Ziegfeld theatre. It's the Hollywood beauty's first public appearance since giving birth to twins in July.

Directed by Clint Eastwood, Changeling is based on the true story of a mother who's reunited with her kidnapped son - only to discover it's not her child.

Jolie admitted the film struck a chord and as a mother-of-six, she was initially reluctant to take the role.

"I read it and wanted to keep it as far away as possible," she said. "But it's also a great story of justice, and I loved the film. Every day on set I came home and was so clingy to my kids they think I bugged them. I was grabbing them, and I was checking them in the middle of the night. It scared me. It still scares me."

Changeling opens in the UK on November 28.
