Updated on 30 April 2007
Singer Boy George has been arrested on suspicion of assault and claims of false imprisonment.
According to tabloid reports, the ex-Culture Club star allegedly kidnapped a 28-year-old male on Saturday, April 28.
A police spokesman said: "We are investigating an allegation of false imprisonment and common assault made by a 28-year-old male at an address in EC2.
"Hackney CID are investigating and a man in his 40's has been arrested in connection with the allegation.
"He was originally taken to an East London police station but has subsequently been bailed to return on a date in July pending further enquiries."
Last year, Boy George - real name George O'Dowd - completed five days of community service in New York after pleading guilty to falsely reporting a burglary at his lower Manhattan apartment. The officers who responded found cocaine instead.
