After a weekend of political revelations, John Sparks asks: do political biographies make good business sense?

From Cherie Blair's lost baby to what Tony Blair really thought of Gordon Brown, it has been a weekend for political aficionados, with headlines filled with stories claiming to reveal what goes on inside Number 10.

Unusually, three political biographies have been rushed into the papers at once, as publishers and editors try to capitalise on Labour's current difficulties in the polls.

But does it really make good business sense? After all, political biographies are not exactly known for topping the bestseller charts.
