Letters between the hero who helped liberate Crete from the Nazis and the last surviving Mitford sister are published for the first time.
A book of the letters between Patrick Leigh Fermor and Deborah, Duchess of Devonshire, has been published, referencing everyone from Errol Flynn to John F Kennedy and even Penelope Keith.
He is the war hero who helped liberate Crete from the Nazis.
She is the last of the Mitford sisters whose escapades have both shocked and intrigued for decades.
