'Virginia Woolf beach' for sale
Updated on 13 July 2009
A Cornish beach thought to be the inspiration for Virginia Woolf's celebrated novel To the Lighthouse has been sold for £80,000.

Although the novel is set in the Hebrides, it is thought to be based on Woolf's memories of her Cornish seaside holidays as a child.
Upton Towans beach in Gwithian was snapped up by a private buyer from London, with the proceeds going to a local Cornish theatre.
