Bateman talks about Gervais role

US actor Jason Bateman has spoken about his cameo appearance in Ricky Gervais' new film, This Side of Truth.

He said: "I shot one scene...it is up to him whether it is in the film. I tried to kiss his bottom as effectively as possible. I am willing to do anything further than that as I am such a big fan of his."

Bateman is currently starring alongside US actor Will Smith in the Hollywood blockbuster Hancock.

In the film Bateman is cast as Ray Embrey, a PR executive whose life is saved by Hancock.

Bateman first shot to fame in the cult TV series Arrested Development in the Little House on the Prairie.
