What now for the National Trust?

The National Trust is debating its future, whether to save old properties, like a Tyneside architectural gem, or buy green spaces.

From castles to stately homes, follies and farms, the National Trust is in charge of some of the finest heritage in England and Wales, not to mention a few rather nice tea rooms.

But an organisation which celebrates the past is now debating how to position itself for the future.

They're only partly funding their latest project, a stately home in Tyneside and they're asking local people to decide its future.
